Zen Master Keizan started teaching at Daijo-ji Temple January 12, 1300.
His disciples recorded and collected them. This is called Denko-Roku which consists of 53 chapters. This book tells the thread of teacher-disciple identification from Shakamuni Buddha(India) to Ejo(Japan) clearly (28 Indian patriarchs, 23 Chinese patriarchs and 2 Japanese patriarchs) , putting the concatenation of cause and effect of each patriarch's enlightenment first.
